Throughout June to August 2016, I completed a Community Health Analyst internshipin the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene through the Summer Public Health Scholars program at Columbia University. The comprehensive program further ensured me that public health is the precise career for me. Within that program I gained proficiency in survey development, delivery, analyzation, as well as experience working in a team conducting community health worker -workshops throughout New York City.
Throughout September to November of 2016 I worked for Moorfields Eye Charity (MEC), in London, England as a fundraising intern. My role as a fundraising intern did not limit the scope of my work engagements. For the duration of my internship I worked alongside various teams including; communication and events, prospect research, research translation, and information and data management. Working alongside the communication and events team I designed two booths for two independent events. The assignments motivated me to understand fully the impact of MEC concerning funds raised for Moorfields Eye Hospital (MEH) and the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology.
